The same ceramic media can be cleaned and reused in all grit sizes, and in polishes, where when using plastic pellets you have to have separate pellets for each grit and polish stage. …. Ceramic Tumbling Media is a MUST if you want to tumble Apache Tears or obsidian flakes. … It is excellent to use as filler – as the level of rock goes down, add some ceramic to keep the level at 3/4 full …. It is also the preferred additive when using TXP for your final polish. NOTICE: Do not use this product when brand new for the fine or polish stages without first running them in the tumbler for a few days to smooth any rough edges. You could scratch your stones, if you don’t.

****WARNING**** There are always a few sharp edges when brand new. If using this media for the fine or polish stage, run for a few days in water in the tumbler to smooth off the sharp edges or you could scratch your stones.
